Mixed Media.... Panic Attack?

Good Morning, Rikki here to share with you some mixed media fun. But first I need to breathe.... freaking out a little bit ,ok who I am I kidding, I am breathing into a paper bag, rocking in the corner!!!!!

Christmas is here, the crazy season is here!!! The I dont know what to buy you? season is here. Well one thing for sure is if you have scrappers in your life I am sure the girls at Tomorrow's Memories has some great ideas to help you, and no you can never have to many supplies.

My favourite go to is mixed media, why? I love that you can make 'art', a one of a kind, messy, bright or dark piece of work that is uniquely yours, no one will have the same, even if you copy someones work it will always look different. Its a great way to revamp some of your old supplies, you know the ones that you have but dont want to get rid of , just in case you need it or it comes back so then you have the vintage version......

To start a layout like this you need a good base coat of Prima's Art Basic Clear Gesso once you have stuck down your flowers, charms and resin. Use it around all those embellishments and leave to dry.

Next once everything is dry now its time to brush on the Prima Heavy Gesso all over the flowers, metal and in your clusters to allow your mist to ''grab'' to all these things, like your flowers, metal, wood and resin.

Once its dry your good to go with your mists, I used the new Tim Holtz Distress Ink Stains, starting off with what you want to be the primary colour and then 2 complementing colours and then 2 shades of the complementing colours.

Also when your in store grab some of the metal charms like the small leave sand butterflies they are perfect for little hidden gems in your cluster.

Dont forget to prime your wood veneer with Primas Heavy Gesso if you want it to be a lighter version of your background.

Till next time....
Have a Creative Day
