Everything Has Beauty

Hi, Rikki here with another share today using the luxurious tones of My Minds Eye Just Sayin' range. Have you ever had the perfect photo and just waited for the perfect papers, as soon as I saw this glasses piece I knew things would fall into place quickly, and whats better than that?

Dont forget to add a little glossy accents on Your Creative Wings Arrow Chipboard to highlight the etched details, like the heart.... And if you spray them with some spray paint it makes things quick and easy.

I am a huge fan of a paper bag, it adds another layer and texture but also allows some hidden journalling or something just for my kids to discover later.

Why not fussy cut out some of the glasses, just add a tooth pick and you have a embellishment for perfect coordinated.

Scattering the Your Creative Wings Geo Tags - Heart and Home is a great way to draw your eye around your layers and layout.

Family Portrait

Hi hope you are all keeping well, Rikki here with another share today. This time its back to the Kaisercraft Rustic Harmony featuring the lovely Your Creative Wings chipboard Scribble Heart, which also nearly didnt make it onto the page, because I wanted to hoard it as I love it so much, but thankfully there are more in store so I have one for the stash.

The Kaisercraft Rustic Harmony Collectables are perfect to add titles and loads of layers, just add some foam mount for instant layers.

See I told you that the Your Creative Wings Heart was a stunning piece of chipboard, I am so glad I kept it in the raw form, but it did take along time to come to that decision.

One of my favourite things to do is cut the tags in half and spread them throughout the layout, for layering, it adds more layers without the bulk and it really extends your stash.

When doing multiple layers you cant go past double sided tape (stocked in store), if you leave a centermetre or two from your edge it allows your to tuck extra tags in between layers,

Remember by Mel Connell

Hello everyone.

I am so excited to say that Tomorrow's Memories recently got in the Prima/Finnabair Art Basics and Art Extravagance products in and the DT have been playing with them.

I was so super excited to get started and wanted to do a bit of a Finnabair inspired layout. I have loved her work for ages and was so amazed by her technique and style when she came to teach at our store last year.

So grab a paint brush, some water, a few sheets of paper and cardstock and get ready to play.

Start by giving your self a strong background to work on so layer up two sheets of paper and cardstock, I left a little border around the edges.

Glue them together with the Soft  Matte Gel.

Tear some strips from left over papers that coordinate and layer these up sticking them down also with the Soft Matte Gel.

Using the gold crackle texture paste as some pattern using a stencil and allow this to dry.  You can do a little or go a bit OT and add a fair amount.

I worked out where I wanted my photo mats to be and layers these up with a few doilies, and add this amazing truing of mason jar light chipboard from My Creative Wings. It's just beautiful chipboard.

Next up add in all kinds of embellishment, flowers, metal pieces, gems, tickets anything really.

I glued down all my embellishments with the 3D Gloss Gel. It is super strong and will hold just about anything in place. Let this dry really well, you don't want anything to come loose in the next few steps.

Once all your embellishments are in place your going to give them all a layer of gesso. The Heavy White gesso is just brilliant. Start slow and build up if your not too confident. dry brush all your little bits and pieces. You can make some more heavily covered than other. Let this dry reply really well. You can speed it up with the heat tool if you'd like.

Next come the really really fun part. I used one of the new Prima Colour Bloom sprays and some of the Primary Elements pigment powders. Put a little of all the colours you would like to use out on your non stick craft sheet and add water to get a runny pool of colour.

With more water add the colour all around your layout, add water to make really wet puddles, then hold your pages up and let the colour run down.

Again work slowly. Add a layer and let it dry, add another layer and dry etc.

With your paint brush flick drops of the colour around your layout too, this just looks so cute once dry.

I hope you like this fun technique that is inspired by Finnabair. All these gorgeous new mixed media products are available in store now.

I'd love to see what you come up with is you give this a bit of a go.

Go create, and see you soon.

Crazy About You

Good Morning, how are you? Rikki here with another share and this time its something a little different from the last one. Something for those of us that love bold and with a fabulous touch of gold, and lets face it we all love a bit of gold !!! This range covers that and some much more - My Minds Eye Just Sayin', and its in store now.

I am a huge fan of fussy cutting.... lets face it its a quick way to add dimension and coordinate with what paper range your working with, and this is how I chose what papers to work with, if it has something to fussy cut I will grab it !!!

Do you have a stash of charms? If your anything like me you do and if hubby asked you have no idea what stash I am talking about ok??..... but a great way to revamp them is to hit a hardware store and go to the spray paint section. With a quick couple of sprays you can change and coordinate your metal.

Add dimension to your fussy cutting while highlighting sprays of smaller flowers with some foam mount.

While you have your spray can out with your charms grab your chipboard. Your Creative Wings chipboard spray paints beautifully, and its a quick way to do your chipboard.

Hope I have inspired you. Why dont you pop into the store to grab some of these beautiful products and to also see what the rest of the talented design team has created.

"Sweet Child" Layout by Mistra Hoolahan

Hi everyone, it's Mistra here with you today!  I have a layout to share with you showcasing some of the gorgeous new butterfly charms that are in stock now, as well as some new chipboard from My Creative Wings.

The beautiful young lady here is the daughter of my friend Natasha.  She's such a sweet child and growing so fast as they do.  She's changed so much already from the time I met her, I imagine she'll be so different again by the time I get back to the states!

There were 3 different butterfly charms used for this layout.  I adore them all but the twin layer one is stunning.  I treated the chipboard swirls from My Creative Wings and the charms similarly.  Both were spray painted with flat white acrylic paint and let to dry.  Next they were coloured with alcohol ink.  On the chipboard I blended the colours together with a blender pen, whereas for the metal I gave it another spray of paint, which toned the colours down.  As a final touch I dusted them all with glitter.

The "sweet" chippy is from Dusty Attic, this one was treated a little differently as I wanted the colours to stand out a little more from the subtle background.  It was spray painted white, then inked with Stormy & Peridot Mix'd Media Inx.  This too was dusted with glitter once dry.

The lovely flowers were dry brushed with white gesso to tone them back a little more, creating a lovely pastel bouquet!

Thanks for visiting today.

You can see this layout at the shop.  There is always a fabulous stock of charms, in all kinds of designs... so there will be something that is just right for your project.

Until next time, take care of you... Mistra

Beauty

Hi, Rikki here with my first post for you, as a new design team member..... nothing like a bit of nerves to get the mojo flowing and some fabulous new products as well. I was given the stunning new range from Kaisercraft - Rustic Harmony.

I just knew that I wanted to go a bit shabby chic with this layout as soon as I saw this charm...... perfect for the girls in our lives. To add that final touch to the charm, I just hit it with a dry brush of Prima Art Basics - Heavy Gesso, using a paper towel to take off the extra to showcase the details in the charm.

Why not grab some glass cabochons? They are in store now in different sizes, I love them because they give you a little hidden detail in your flower clusters, like little rain drops.....

My favourite thing to do when getting a new range is grab the Kaisercraft Rustic Harmony Collectables kit, they have the ''best'' bits to add layers and details to your layout (like the butterfly and other diecuts around the layout).

A tip when clustering your flowers start with the largest one you have in your stash and then work around that, it allows your to angle other flowers around it to give you height.

You cant go past a wood veneer title and if you pop into the store you wont be disappointed, its works so well with this range also to make it work with the layout, lightly brush it with some Prima Art Basics - Heavy Gesso.

When you finish your layout add Prima Art Basics - Heavy Gesso over all the flowers with a dry brush it allows every colour of the flowers to blend in.
